Yoga

Namaste! I look forward to practicing with you.

Join me for a playful Yoga class, I offer a range of styles from Gentle Flow, Hatha, Vinyasa to Stretch. I encourage moving with awareness and intuition, whilst still placing an emphasis on supportive alignment. I respect that we are all at different stages of our practice and nurture a safe space for varying levels.

I teach weekly drop-in classes at the Waihi Beach RSA. Feel free to flick me a text as my timetable varies based on my other work commitments. Or follow me on Facebook: www.facebook.com/YogawithMiriama for the most up to date weekly timetable.

I’m also available for private lessons and Corporate trainings.

I’ve always had a passion for health and fitness, completing a Bachelor of Leisure and Sport at Waikato University in 1998, before moving to Auckland where I tried my first Yoga Class in 1999 and have never looked back.

By 2000 I was teaching Body Balance at Les Mills, whilst exploring the vast array of Yoga on offer including Hatha/Iyengar, Ashtanga,Vinyasa, Yin, Hot Yoga, Power Yoga and more.

An intensive Energetic Alignment course, guided by Twee Merrigan on Waiheke island, soon ignited my passion for Yoga, as a way of life.

In 2014 I completed my 200hours Yoga Teacher Training Course at Kawai Purapura under the expert guidance of Vincent Boletta, Dyana Wells, Neal Goshal and Karla Brodie. The course, influenced by Donna Farhi’s teachings, had a vital emphasis on moving the way nature intended us to.

Through the practice of Yoga, I am learning to live more presently both on and off the mat and hope to inspire others to do the same.

Miriama

Louise Miller

Miriama’s Introduction to Basics Yoga course gave me valuable support to retrain my body, gently and safely, after recent surgery. She made yoga accessible, and demonstrated realistic ways to incorporate yoga into a western lifestyle. Her teaching style encompasses grace, compassion and strength, and the insights that she brought to the class helped me to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of yoga as medicine.

I am grateful to Miriama’s 4 week Intro to Yoga course for reintroducing me to the mind, body, and soul benefits of yoga. Her approach to teaching is patient and kind, thorough in her explanation and gentle in her instruction. Miriama has totally inspired me to continue to practice yoga at my own pace and with confidence. Thank you Miriama

After trying several different types and teachers of yoga, I found Miriama and have been absolutely hooked to her classes ever since! With a busy on-the-go lifestyle, I relish her caring, yet light-hearted approach to total body and mind exercise. Her approach gives everyone the ownership of their own abilities. I find she pushes where you can do more but pulls back when more can be achieved by doing less. On top of that her humour makes us aware of not letting our ego get in the way! I always leave her class in a happy positive state of mind. Thanks!
